Tier Benefits
Tiers
As you complete activities and get them approved, you will earn experience points (XP).
You start in Ed Corps Tier 1, as a Leader. When you have accrued at least 100 XP you will level-up to Tier 2, as a Booster.
Then, when you acquire at least 250 XP you will level-up to Tier 3, as a Champion.
Rewards
Each Tier comes with its own rewards.

Below is a list of all the rewards you receive when you enter each Tier.
TIER 1: Research Quest Leader
- Online Community: Access is provided to the Ed Corps members-only Facebook group. This online community encourages teachers around
the country to support one another in their use of Research Quest and in their efforts to promote it among their colleagues.
- Newsletter: An infrequent Ed Corps newsletter emailed to all Ed Corps members, designed to help you promote Research Quest.
It includes recognition of Ed Corps activities around the country, tips and tricks, and more.
TIER 2: Research Quest Booster
All Boosters will also receive:
- A Research Quest T-Shirt: Ed Corps members should receive a T-Shirt with the RQ logo as part of recognition for joining the community.
- Professional Recognition: At the Booster Tier, Ed Corps members will receive professional recognition in the following ways:
- Boosters receive a Silver Ed Corps icon that can be shared on LinkedIn and/or put into an email signature.
- Booster may be recognized by name in the newsletter.
TIER 3: Research Quest Champion
All Champions will also receive:
- RQ Swag: Champions receive a Research Quest-branded water bottle.
- Poster: Champions receive Research Quest-related poster for the classroom.
- To Meet the Scientist: Champions are invited to an annual event with a scientist featured in Research Quest and go behind-the-scenes to learn more about their research and collections.
- Professional Recognition: Champions receive additional professional recognition, including a personalized banner, a digital certificate
of achievement, a Gold Ed Corps icon, and the option to identify a supervisor (e.g. a principal) who will be notified of their achievements by the
NHMU.
- Leadership Opportunities: Champions may be invited to participate in new RQ-related leadership opportunities, such as focus groups,
moderating the Facebook group, and co-designing Research Quest micro-credentials.
