Getting Started

Whether you're teaching in a classroom or navigating the world of remote learning, Research Quest is ready to help you spark curiosity and guide your students through exciting, museum-based investigations. Designed with educators and their students in mind, everything you need is just a few clicks away — no account setup for students, no extra prep stress for you. Here’s how to dive in:

  1. Pick Your Quest
Browse the Investigations and choose one that fits your lesson plan or your students’ interests.
  2. Check Out the Teacher Tools
Head to the Support Materials for that investigation — you’ll find helpful guides, student notebooks, and tips for making the most of each activity.
  3. Take It for a Test Drive
Click the "Launch Investigation" button to walk through the activity yourself. This helps you plan how it fits into your schedule.
  4. Make a Game Plan
Use the Instructional Guide to decide how many days you’ll spend on the investigation and what parts students will do each day.
  5. Prep Tech & Materials
Reserve any computers or devices students will need. Then either print the Research Assistant Notebooks or import them into your favorite digital tool (like Google Docs).
  6. Send Students to the Portal
Share this link: www.researchquest.org/student They’ll also need your Student Access Code, which you can find under My Account.
  7. Point Them to the Right Path
Let students know which investigation to start with — and they’re off!
