Research Quest has been asked to develop a new elementary-level Investigation based on the research of an international team of scientists. We traveled to the country of Panama to join in their fieldwork. We collected fungus-farming ants and their fungal gardens (try saying that ten times fast). Upon return, we held three design challenges with educators to turn their research into a new Investigation coming to you in 2025.
"My students were so engaged. There were never any outside conversations, and every single student was on task the entire time. It was absolutely amazing!"
7th grade teacher, Machesney Park, IL
Speaking of ants, if you can't wait until next year, bring the velvet ants of Research Quest into your classrooms today. The Eat or not to eat Investigation (within the EPIC Bioscience collection) lets your students explore the phenomena of mimicry using these incredible powerhouses of pain. Support your classroom to conduct research to determine the factors a predator uses to choose – or AVOID – prey.

This winter, Research Quest presented at a number of educator conferences around the country. Most recently, G&C Science (pictured) presented Research Quest at the Science Education Council of Ohio conference. Thanks to all that stopped by to learn more! Interested in partnering with us to present at a conference near you? If so, please reply to this email and share the details.
Did you know many educators use Research Quest to assess their students? Pick an investigation and see how far their skills have come since the start of the year. It's also a fun way to keep them engaged as their minds increasingly turn toward thoughts of the coming summer break. Be sure to check out the Research Quest Assessment Tool from the Support tab. Check it out!
"Be sure to read the educator guide first! When I do this investigation again, I will follow the guide more diligently."
Middle School Teacher, Kalispell, MT
